Perform manual pipe installation & related tasks on road/highway construction sites.

Tasks
-Regularly use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; reach and grasp. -Support the pipe installation process by supplying materials, tools and equipment to the trench -Assist with pre-assembly of pipe on the top of the hill -Use picks, shovels, and rakes to level earth or asphalt to grade specifications -Mix mortar and concrete for manholes -Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program. -Load, unload, or distribute materials, machinery, or tools to and from designated locations -Regularly twist, bend, stoop, kneel, push/pull and crouch to perform duties -Maintain clean work area by disposing of trash and debris properly. -Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails or bolts -Climb intermittently -Cut, measure, and hook pipes. -Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials -May operate a variety of power and hand tools: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, mechanical hoists, surveying, measuring and other equipment -Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. -Tends pumps, compressors, or generators

What You Bring
-Able to listen, follow directions, and have a willingness to continue to enhance skills -Two (2) years recent experience working as Hillman (road construction), or equivalent experience. -Active Driver’s license -Must have reliable transportation, and ability to travel to assigned worksites. -Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public -Able to communicate effectively with jobsite supervisor and co-workers -Agility, balance, and manual dexterity, as well as arm-hand steadiness -Good vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus -General knowledge of road construction processes. -Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination. -High School diploma or general education degree (GED) -Regularly reach above shoulder level -Intermittent sitting; continuous walking on construction site. -Constant physical effort, including extended standing for at least 8 hour shift -Able to operate a variety of tools/equipment such as hand tools and power tools -Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary -Able to repetitively lift and carry at least 75 pounds on a regular basis, and sometimes heavier weight. -Able to hear and respond to oral instructions in a noisy environment.
