The Role

Overview

Install commercial HVACR systems, including ductwork, refrigerant, and water piping.

Tasks

-Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order -Order parts and supplies as needed -Keep current on all manufacturers products concerning installation -Use hand tools and power tools -Complete documentation associated with the installation -Perform installations of commercial HVACR equipment -Assist Foremen and Project Manager in job layout -Collaborate with Project Managers and other personnel to complete projects on schedule -Perform site inspections and assist with material take-offs and estimating -Provide guidance and training to junior installers or apprentices when needed -Removal and installation of commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, etc. -Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to complete installations according to design or manufacturer specifications -Ensure all HVAC systems are installed in compliance with local, state, and national building codes

What You Bring

-Associates degree, technical school certification in HVACR, or 4 year apprenticeship -Team oriented with the ability to work well and communicate with others -Minimum 5 years commercial installation experience -Excellent communication and teamwork abilities -Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record; clean criminal background for school district badge -Able to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions -Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills -Duct fabrication and installation a plus -Must own basic personal tools of the trade -Copper brazing and installation of refrigerant systems a plus -Neat, professional appearance -Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and manuals -Comfortable working in confined spaces, on ladders, and at heights -HVAC certification or license (EPA Section 608, NATE certification, or equivalent) is a plus -Proven experience as a commercial HVAC installer or technician -Knowledge of HVAC systems and their proper installations -Copper soldering and installation of hydronic systems a plus -Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 75 lbs or more) -Or equivalent combination of education and experience -Must adhere to all OSHA and Page Mechanical safety policies and procedures
