Overview
Paid summer internship assisting bidding, estimating and project management in construction.

Tasks
-The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment. -Complete material and quantity takeoffs -Participate in production meetings -Assist with job quantity measurements -Assist with generating change orders -Attend construction meetings with owners, utilities, and subcontractors -Perform various tests on aggregate production, asphalt mix, and ready-mix concrete: gradation, moisture, oil content, density, and strength -Assist with final billing quantity measurement -Coordinate with agencies and traffic control subcontractors -Coordinate work with subcontractors, superintendents -Provide ongoing project supervision -Assist with reviewing and analyzing data relative to a project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid -Perform grade checks -Learn Estimating and Bid Tracking Software -The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. -Assist in tracking daily subcontract and prime contract quantities -Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite -Assist in preparation and setup of job site work

What You Bring
-Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment. -Applicants must be entering their Sophomore, Junior or Senior year and currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technologies, Civil Engineering, or closely related program of study. -Ability to follow verbal and written instruction -Detail oriented -This position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites. -This position is not eligible for current or future sponsorship for employment visa status. -Learn to read specifications and plans -A valid driver’s license, current authorization to work in the United States, and pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing. -The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. -Must be available to work approximately 40 - 50 hours per week
