Tasks

-Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and technical evaluations. -Drive innovation in design and engineering practices, tools, and procedures -To be responsible for leading and coordinating technical assurance of multiple design packages and physical construction works on large infrastructure projects -Oversee the end-to-end design and engineering process, ensuring alignment with project and broader business goals, timelines, and quality standards. -This position will manage a team of Metrolinx staff, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to deliver design packages to maturity. -Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing. -Manage project schedules and resource allocation. -Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. -Lead and mentor a team of engineers across multiple workstreams -Collaborate with cross-functional teams

What You Bring

-Experience working with a large team of technical professionals and large-scale contractors -Strong understanding of design principles and engineering methodologies -10+ years of experience in engineering management, potentially inclusive of design management -Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience managing and influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including municipalities -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent field -Project management experience on large scale rapid transit projects -There is so much happening in the world of transit, right here in Toronto. We are looking for talented individuals to be part of a once in a generation transit expansion by working on Toronto’s Subways Extension Program. -Demonstrated experience successfully managing the competing objectives of many external and internal stakeholders. -We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Lead to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, creative vision, and strong leadership to drive the design maturity, working with a number of stakeholders across Metrolinx and its contractors.
