The Role

Overview

Perform welding, fabrication, repair, and painting of waste handling equipment in Edmonton.

Tasks

-Attend safety and branch meetings. -Adhere to all applicable federal, state/provincial, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, and other orders, as well as all Company policies, procedures, and directives from supervisors. -Inspect and maintain assigned hand tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order, notifying the Shop Manager of needed repairs. -Maintain a clean work area in the shop or on the job site and any assigned vehicles. -Repair and prepare equipment for painting, including the painting of assigned equipment. -Provide basic personal tools such as a welding shield, basic hand wrenches, etc. -Assist other shop employees with repairs and duties. -Ensure quality, efficient, and safe completion of all repairs. -Operate specified welding equipment to fabricate and repair new and used solid waste handling equipment. -Keep an inventory of supplies. -Maintain accurate records of services performed.

What You Bring

-Certification of basic welding skills and/or a minimum of two years of experience in welding/fabricating. -High School Diploma or GED desired. -Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred. -Must meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards. -Provided coveralls
