The Role
Overview
Assist in design and modeling of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects.

Tasks
-Preparation of mechanical engineering design and documents ensuring accuracy, adequacy, and conformance to the design requirements -When required, preparation/review of tender/contract documents -Work within the project team environment from preliminary stages of the design through to completion -Coordinate with other team members on various projects at the same time to achieve project milestones -When required, complete site investigations, general reviews of construction, and preparation of field review reports -Coordinate mechanical aspects of projects with other discipline designs and drawings -Accept technical guidance from designers, technologists, and senior staff

What You Bring
-Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization -Completed three years towards a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited Canadian University, or equivalent, and enrolled to complete the Degree. -Familiarity with mechanical design/modelling tools such as Carrier HAP would be considered an asset -Experience with Provincial and local Municipality design guidelines, the Ontario Building Code, and other applicable Canadian Engineering standards would be considered an asset -Effective team member -Become familiar with design guidelines, standards, and regulations associated with mechanical engineering -A good understanding of building service design -Capable of working on and/or managing several projects at the same time -Access to reliable transportation for travel within Ontario, primarily London and surrounding area. -Experience in building system design and/or construction considered an asset -Flex Time -Effective written and verbal communication skills -Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD suites -Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities -Eligible for a 16-month co-op / internship registered through your post-secondary school.
