Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction activities.

Tasks

-Plan and design temporary structures, following construction and government standards, using design software, and drawing tools. -Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects. -Manage procurement of materials and consumables, including vendor pre-qualifications and development of RFQ’s. -Develop and maintain resource loaded project schedules. -Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals. -Organize and manage subcontractors. -Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc. -Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specifications. -Acts as a Quality Control / Quality Assurance representative as required. -Manage project document control. -Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to managerial personnel. -Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility. -Will sit and stand for several hours at a time. -Develop work plans and hazard analysis plans for crews to follow to safely execute the work.

What You Bring

-1 – 3 years working as a Field Engineer in the construction industry. -Will travel on various land, water and aircraft. -Proficient with wide range of software including AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Heavy Bid, Heavy Job, MS Project or P6, and Microsoft Office Suite. -Wears various PPE (respirators, fall protection, etc.). -Ability to determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed to complete a project. -Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Ability to use mathematics and scientific rules/methods to solve problems. -Ability to work and thrive in a collaborative team environment. -Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. -Lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, squatting for various periods of time. -Excellent communication skills in verbal, written, telephone, email, and presentations. -Bachelor’s Degree Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil or related field. -Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments, often under tight deadline situations, in a dynamic fast paced work environment. -Heavy Civil/Infrastructure experience preferred. -Working outdoors in various temperatures and conditions. -Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent verbal communications skills and ability to foster relationships with employees at all levels within the organization; ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives, and strong creative problem-solving skills are required. -Ability to relocate as needed.
