The Role

Overview

Lead field team maintaining flood assets, responding to incidents and coaching staff.

Tasks

-Carrying out regular checks and inspections of equipment, such as tools, personal protective equipment and vehicles -Leading and working together with a team and being outside in all weathers; -Undertake specialist training as and when required; -Providing response to flood and environmental incidents inside and outside of normal working hours by participating, training and exercising. Deploying sandbags, temporary barriers, mobile pumps and pollution equipment; -Your team will use a variety of tools and equipment to carry out tasks such as small projects and operation of plant and equipment; -You will be trained and supported to contribute to our response to incidents inside and outside of normal working hours; -Coaching and mentoring Team Members and colleagues to increase skills, knowledge and experience;

What You Bring

-Competent in using IT devices, such as an iPad, and willing to learn our in-house systems; -People management skills are desirable. -You should have an understanding of site health and safety requirements; -Literacy and numeracy skills are required; -Some experience in asset operation or maintenance/incident response/use of equipment/tools is an advantage (however full training will be provided); -You should have the necessary practical skills and an understanding in environmental awareness as well as a hands on approach; -Have the ability to carry out tasks and answer queries effectively;
