  • Envisions and leads both process and cultural change for data management and governance functions.
  • Leads the creation, maintenance, and governance of procurement master data, including vendor, material, contract, and pricing data.
  • Assesses gaps in data management capabilities and identify, architect, and implement solutions.
  • Enforces data governance policies, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Leads cross-functional teams to address data management challenges.
  • Builds and manages relationships with stakeholders (e.g., external partners, business SMEs, data owners) and leadership to gain resources and support for data stewardship activities and drive data governance adoption and maturity.
  • Ensures data steward responsibilities are communicated and upheld for metadata, system of record data, data usage, security, privacy and compliance.
  • Partners with data owners, data architects, data scientists, and engineering teams to meet the data needs of the business.
  • Acts as the accountable contact for questions, issues, and problems for multiple datasets.
  • Develops and expands improvements on existing enterprise data governance program and maturity framework.
  • Establishes and drives clear roles, responsibilities, and ownership for data stewards.

  • Experience with coaching and mentoring others.
  • Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate between data management and Procurement principles
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or MIS.
  • Knowledge of data management best practices, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX).
  • Master’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) subject.
  • 10 years of experience in data management, data governance, data quality, reference (master) data management, and/or designing and implementing functional systems and data in a structured process.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and cultivate relationships with vendors and business SMEs.
  • Excellent business process mapping and design skills.
  • Experienced in project management to support multiple initiatives with other data stewards, program managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience working with ERP systems (i.e., SAP) and procurement platforms (i.e., Ariba)
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in delivering enterprise-scale data management programs with complex, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong presentation skills to drive engagement, adoption, and inform the business at all levels.
