Tasks
-Co-ordinate and support managers in the investigation of accidents and incidents using the preferred business tool. -Monitor the changing business risk profile and feedback / highlight creeping concerns or emerging risks where necessary -Ensure best practice is achieved in conjunction with legal compliance. -Undertake project work where necessary to support the improvement of the H&S management system -Assist in the design and implementation of appropriate strategies for ensuring H&S regulations are followed and improved. -Build and maintain relationships at all levels. -Provide authoritative and independent advice. -Support managers to implement policies and procedures with regards to health and safety. -Review and develop H&S policy and frameworks for existing and new processes -Report all safety related incidents and assist in root cause analysis against preferred methodology, in an accurate and timely manner, to internal and external customers. -Support the business to ensure compliance with legislation and a reduction in the cost of accidents and ill health. -Ensure proactive identification, feedback and incorporation of new processes and practice -Liaise with internal and external legal representatives relating to personal injury claims. -As a Regional Health and Safety Advisor, youll be the driving force behind our commitment to a safe and compliant workplace. -Take personal responsibility for H&S and ensure that all policies, procedures and goals are adhered to, to set the highest example. -Ensure compliance with legislation, reduction in the cost of accidents and ill health. -Advise and assist in promoting a positive H&S Culture. -Provide guidance and advice at all levels of the business from top management, line management and employees. -Complete gap analysis in strategy and processes to ensure best in class H&S management. -Research topics and provide sources of information from relevant and credible means to the business -Youll provide both operational and strategic support where Health and Safety expertise is needed, ensuring our managers and employees are well-informed and equipped to uphold the highest safety standards across the business. -Attend and contribute to local and business H&S meetings, providing input and outputs where necessary. -Compile statistics and infer trends from available safety data, using critical thinking. -Audit and review H&S management standards, systems and processes, where necessary. -Assis in formulating improvement plans for H&S including setting short and long-term objectives, priorities and performance standards. What You Bring
-Be an analytical and critical thinker -Ability to cope in a demanding and high-pressure environment -Knowledge and competence in Microsoft Office Applications. -Ability to work on poorly defined or ambiguous problems and achieve results. -Auditing experience / qualification desirable. -Hold the status and competence to advise management at all levels, with authority and independence. -Hold an industry recognised H&S qualification -Currently hold or be working towards GRAD IOSH level -Ability to work solo, but not in silo. -Be confident to stop work if it contravenes agreed standards and puts people at risk of injury or harm. -Be able to travel, with overnight stays where business dictates. -Ability to communicate effectively, through various means, with all levels in the organisation
