Tasks

-High-Risk Activity Management & Oversight: Direct the rigorous assessment and control of high-risk construction activities, specifically related to elevated structures, such as pile foundation work, pier cap casting, segment launching, heavy lifting operations, and working over or adjacent to existing infrastructure and public traffic. -Environmental Impact and Compliance: Oversee the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), focusing on unique elevated rail concerns like noise and vibration control, dust suppression, hazardous waste management, and minimizing impact on sensitive areas during construction and operation. -Incident Management and Prevention: Establish and manage the Incident/Accident/Near-Miss reporting, investigation, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process across all contractors. Ensure the timely implementation and verification of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence. -SHE Auditing, Training, and Culture: Lead and coordinate all internal and external SHE audits (including regulatory and client audits) and site inspections. Drive a positive safety culture through mandatory training, contractor monitoring, and competence assessments for all personnel, particularly for safety-critical roles. -Develop and Enforce Project SHE Strategy: 📜 Establish the comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Management Plan and System Safety Program Plan (SSPP). This includes setting project-wide SHE targets, integrating specialized procedures for working at height (elevated sections), and ensuring compliance with all local, national, and railway-specific regulations. -Interface and Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the Client/Employer, regulatory bodies, and interfacing contractors on all SHE matters. Ensure seamless coordination of safety protocols at interface points, especially where construction meets operational rail lines or public access point

What You Bring

-The period of Eligible Assignment at the position immediately below the proposed position in organization shall also be considered but its weightage for the period shall be 50%. (For example, 02 years will be considered as 01 year). -Minimum 20 Years post minimum qualification experience in Infrastructure sub sector related to Transport & Logistics. -Relevant Experience - 05 years’ experience for Preparation, Implementation and monitoring of safety Management system and emergency procedures regarding construction safety, Health & Environment for elevated in Infrastructure sub sector related to Transport & Logistics as Chief Safety, Health and Environmental Expert or equivalent position. The period of relevant Experience at the position immediately below the proposed position in organization shall also be considered but its weightage for the period shall be 50%. (For example, 02 years will be considered as 01 year). -Total experience as Chief Safety, Health and Environmental Expert or equivalent will be evaluated considering the period as Deputy Chief Safety, Health and Environmental Expert or equivalent with the weightage mentioned above. -Graduate in Engineering in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical with Full time Post Graduate/ Advance diploma/MBA in Industrial Safety with working Knowledge of reading, writing and Speaking in English. -If assignment period is more than 2 years on a particular project, the number assignment will be considered as follows: Min. 4 years = 2 Assignments Min. 6 years = 3 Assignments -Eligible Assignment - Must have Experience of one "Eligible assignment" as Chief Safety, Health and Environmental Expert or equivalent position or one level below to the proposed position or one level below to the proposed position.
