Tasks
Commissioning engineers ensure that newly installed / modified water and wastewater treatment systems / equipment, and systems function safely and efficiently to meet project specifications and client requirements. They perform inspections, conduct functional tests, troubleshoot issues, calibrate & optimise systems to meet operational standards and regulatory requirements before they are officially put into operation and before handover to the client. -Ensure all MEICA installations meets the technical requirements of the project, including client specifications / Asset Standards and where applicable the Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Standards (WIMES) -Ensure regular MEICA & Commissioning programme updates are included within the main contract programme in collaboration with the planner, and that regular commissioning meetings are held at the necessary intervals -Engaging with specialist support functions including DSEAR Hazardous Areas, Technical Authors, Document Controllers to ensure early engagement and clear understanding of project needs and deliverables including timescales -Working with the client Asset Operations Team to ensure full integration with the existing assets are maintained -Site based assisting experienced Commissioning Engineers in the testing and troubleshooting of new / modified equipment or systems, learning to create reports and ensuring all components function correctly to meet operational requirements -Ensuring a full appreciation of the MEICA requirements of the project including a full understanding of the commissioning requirements and interfaces with existing equipment and processes -Ensure works are completed in a safe manner, and all Galliford Try process and procedures are adhered to -Assisting with commissioning planning in a sequence that promotes efficient commissioning, test procedures, documenting findings, learning to identify and resolve faults and supporting the overall goal of bringing a system to its most effective point of use
