The Role

Overview

Perform field material testing on soil, concrete, asphalt, etc., for construction projects.

Tasks

-Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings, and follow operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed. -Perform field materials testing on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and the specified procedures. -Prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results. -May be required to stand for long periods of time and potentially engage in frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items in excess of 20lbs. -Perform occasional laboratory tests on soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete when required to support project objectives. -Clean, calibrate, maintain, and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results. -Performs pre-task planning prior to executing work. -Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects. -Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of test data. -Maintains equipment in good working order and adheres to related calibration and storage. -Frequently on the road and may remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.

What You Bring

-ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I. -Other national, regional, state, and local Materials related certifications within 120 Days Preferred. -Ability to accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes. -Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness of results required. -1-year minimum experience required. -Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis. -Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills. -Driver's License Upon Hire Required. -Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation. -High School or GED required, Associates degree preferred, No Bachelors required. -Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions. -Able to work under pressure and multitask. -Demonstrate excellent communication skills. -Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions. -Familiarity with Construction practices and Materials testing Preferred. -Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and engage in frequent eye/hand/foot coordination.
