The Role

Facilitate activities and support residents in memory‑care senior living.

Tasks

-Assist in creating and adjusting the Resident Experience plan for each resident -Will help facilitate socials, games, crafts, cooking, movies, outings, outdoor time, and many other activities as per the monthly/daily schedule -Ensures that each resident has been given a copy of the monthly activity calendar -Uses Lifeloop to document all attendance both at planned activities and 1:1 interactions -Work with the Resident Experience team to bring new and exciting ideas, and to encourage others to offer new suggestions, to add to the monthly planned program(s) -Identifies, obtains, and effectively allocates the resources required to achieve applicable goals -Assists in bringing residents to and from all activities -Identify and report to the Resident Experience Director and personal, emotional, cognitive, and environmental concerns that prevent or limit a resident's ability to participate in any activity -Invites, engages, and encourages participation from all residents to the extent they are comfortable participating -May drive the company van or vehicle for various reasons as required by the community

What You Bring

-Ability to utilize technology effectively and efficiently, including use of computers, iPad/tablet, Word programming, internet access, email, social media, and Resident Experience software platforms -One (1) to two (2) years of working with seniors preferred -Previous experience in organizing activities or event planning preferred -Able to think creatively and independently to meet worthwhile objectives -Able to relate to routine operations in a manner that is consistent with existing solutions to problems. -Expected to represent the Resident Experience department by being punctual, neat, clean, and professional in appearance -Able to be innovative to create and generate solutions and programs -Ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and through pictures when necessary -Able to maintain a customer focus, treating others with respect and integrity -Able to act in solving problems, while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of the issues. Able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics -Demonstrates an ability to use independent judgement and discretion to make decisions on what is in the best interest of the resident -Able to work with people in such a manner to support the company's culture, work in a team setting to accomplish goals and get results -Able to operate standard office equipment -The position requires driving responsibilities; must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per company's Motor Vehicle Policy -Ability to work varied schedules to include weekends, evenings, and holidays
