Tasks

-Identify and develop commercial opportunities to support regional growth. -Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategic plans within current and future legislation. -Build external networks and foster collaboration to keep YW at the forefront of industry planning. -Ensure asset strategies and environmental obligations are reflected in strategic business cases. -Work with Finance to monitor and control expenditure in line with budgets. -Manage risks, issues, and opportunities across the programme, escalating where necessary. -Act as technical lead during price control periods, shaping business cases for AMP8 and beyond. -Oversee the review and completion of the Water Supply Systems Strategy. -Investigate asset shortfalls and promote appropriate solutions through the business risk process. -Interpret regulatory requirements to guide service, compliance, and performance risk. -Provide strategic challenge and support to deliver performance commitments. -Develop long-term, economically viable asset investment plans aligned to customer outcomes and strategic goals. -Lead and manage priority projects with a focus on sustainable performance. -Champion health and safety, risk management, and compliance with YW’s Safety Policy. -Set clear performance expectations and drive delivery against business targets. -Lead the implementation of Yorkshire Water’s options development framework to support the Water Resources Management Plan, Water Resources North Regional Plan, and Drought Plan. -Ensure all aspects of options development meet regulatory and government standards across engineering, cost, environment, drinking water safety, and water resources. -Ensure financial and commercial decisions align with strategic plans. -Manage a pipeline of multi-sector projects delivering wider societal benefits. -Align and integrate the framework with other programmes including Major Projects, DWMPs, WINEP, Integrated Water Management, and base maintenance plans.

If you’ve got experience in Strategic Water Resource Planning & Resilience Management and want to help us deliver great service for our customers whilst looking after the environment, then be sure to apply today to find out what a career with Yorkshire Water can offer you. -Full UK driving licence -Degree-level qualification in a science or engineering discipline (or equivalent) -Experience managing direct reports (preferred) -Proficient in data analysis, interpretation, and communication -Strong understanding of water supply systems and water resources planning -Skilled in coaching and influencing others -Proven project management experience -Demonstrated ability to drive sustainable performance against challenging targets -Experience in financial management and commercial awareness -Strategic thinker with a track record of implementing long-term plans -Solid understanding of UK water policy and legislation -Technical knowledge of water distribution networks -Advanced IT skills, particularly in analysing complex datasets
