Tasks
-Assist the Manager in maintaining a high level quality Pricing team that is accountable for all Transmission and Distribution pricing and rate related matters in the Company through appropriate management of resources and tools. -Be accountable to develop rate design options consistent with regulatory principles and corporate policies and strategies. Ensure rate design models are operational and evaluate and compare results with existing tariffs. Make effective recommendations on human resource issues, including career counselling, hiring, discharge, discipline and resolving work performance problems. -Provide leadership and support for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the pricing function. Recommend improvements that will enhance the overall delivery of the pricing function. -Develop, design and implement pricing and rate policies and strategies to support the pricing and rate design for Hydro One Networks, (Networks) Distribution and Transmission services. Develop, maintain and improve a broad spectrum of cost allocation and rate design models used in the derivation of Distribution and Transmission tariffs for Networks customers, including customers of acquired utilities. -Be accountable for the input on the design and implementation of pricing and rate models to support pricing and rate design for Networks Distribution and Transmission services. Work with business units to obtain necessary data for the models and input the necessary data and settlement records. Work with customers or customer representatives on highly controversial pricing issues. -Represent the Company on task forces and committees to inform and educate external stakeholders in the areas of rate design and pricing policies, programs and processes that impact directly or indirectly upon them. Exercise judgement and tact in explaining relevant policy issues and/or persuading these external stakeholders/customers to make exception to policies/processes or to change to ones more suitable to the Company's perspective. -Provide strategic advice to the rate design process and prepare and present results of studies, analysis and rate proposals for Senior Management review and approval. Participate to support the Regulatory process to obtain the necessary approvals to implement the proposed Transmission and Distribution tariffs. Provide consultation and support to internal and external clients and stakeholders during the development of rate proposals, while the proposals are being reviewed and during the implementation phase of the proposed rates. Provide advice and guidance on pricing policies to respond to Government, the Regulator and customer inquiries. -Lead and support the development and implementation, of various pricing and rate design options for business planning and business analysis and assist in the development of business and strategic cases for continuous improvement that will enhance the overall delivery of the economic analysis and rate design model for the Company. -Provide training as required to develop in-house Transmission and Distribution cost allocations and rate design capability for the department -Contribute to multi-party, inter-disciplinary studies. Provide expertise in pricing area or related disciplines required by the study groups. -Provide leadership and guidance to teams of staff assigned to assist with the development of pricing tools in the Company, Government, Independent Electricity System Operator, or the Ontario Energy Board or other related organizations. Plan work, coordinate staff activities, if required, advise and provide guidance to staff on technical or business issues, monitor progress and take necessary corrective actions to ensure successful completion of assigned duties. -Provide strategic advice and guidance on the design and implementation of cost allocation and rate design principles dealing with Distribution and Transmission and other related tariffs. Provide existing and emerging pricing concepts through literature reviews, selfstudy and participation in workshops and seminars. Keep abreast of Distribution and Transmission pricing rate/design developments in other jurisdictions and of Government and the Ontario Energy Board policies related to the electricity industry and its impact on Distributors and/or Transmitters.

What You Bring
-Requires familiarity with distribution and transmission systems and assets. -Requires knowledge of economics, quantitative analysis and statistics. -Requires familiarity with the Ontario Energy Board’s regulatory process including evidence preparation and responding to interrogatories and undertakings. -Information Seeking – able to acquire information relevant to the achievement of valued goals. -Effective Listener – ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately when interacting with individuals and groups. -Requires experience in cost allocation and rate design practices and the development and implementation of regulated rates. -Requires familiarity with how load forecasts impact cost allocation and rate design. -Team leadership – ability to take on role as leader of a team or other group. -Analytical Thinking – ability to understand a situation by segmenting and tracing implications step by step. -A period of over 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience. -Requires working knowledge of computer applications (e.g. Word, Power Point) and an understanding of information database management systems (e.g. SAS, Excel, Microsoft Access). -Teamwork – able to work with others as part of a team. -Requires experience in the processes, systems and analytical models used to assess pricing and service options. -Requires knowledge of CIS/Smart Meter/Interval Meter data and the purpose of this data for cost allocation and rate design models. -Strategic Business Thinking – ability to apply their technical knowledge and experience to making management decisions for achieving business objectives. -Impact and influence – able to persuade, convince, influence and impress others to take actions with the good of the organization in mind.
