Overview
Install, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration systems for various commercial facilities.

Tasks
-Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues, and implement appropriate repairs or adjustments -Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures for refrigerants and hazardous materials -Provide detailed reports on equipment condition, performance, and recommendations for improvement or replacements -Perform system start-ups, shutdowns, and defrost cycles according to established procedures -Monitor and record system performance data, such as temperatures, pressures and energy consumption -Conduct regular maintenance tasks including cleaning coils, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting refrigerant levels and pressures -Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used -Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on industrial refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance an minimize downtime -Adjust settings, pressures, and temperatures as needed to maintain optimal system performance and meet required specifications -Replace faulty or worn-out components such as motors, valves, fans, and thermostats -Interact professionally and courteously with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction -Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others -Comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards in all aspects of refrigeration system installation, maintenance, and repair -Ensure proper alignment and connection of components and perform leak test to ensure system integrity -Install and assembly industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, piping, valves, and controls, according to engineering specifications and diagrams -Install electrical wiring, control panels, and instrumentation enable system operation -Monitor refrigeration systems and controls to ensure proper operation, temperature control, and energy efficiency -Provide technical assistance and guidance to customers regarding refrigeration system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting -Complete service reports, work orders, and other documentation in a timely and accurate manner -Communicate with customers, supervisors, and colleagues to understand project requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions

What You Bring
-Completion of a refrigeration mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent certification as a Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic -Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system issues -Willingness to learn and develop technical skills through on-the-job training -Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Driver's Abstract -Strong customer service and relationship-building skills -Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills -Basic computer skills required (MS Office Applications) -Ability to work out of town. Travel and overnight stays may be required from time to time -Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and associated components -Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team -Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions -Must have experience working with ammonia -Ability to work independently and on-call
