Overview
Oversee ship block fabrication, safety, quality, scheduling, and workforce performance.

Tasks
-Identify bottlenecks to ensure no unexpected delays to project progress by conducting meetings with subordinates, analyzing weekly reports and formulate optimal production flows for any issues identified. -Respond to technical queries from subordinates to account for timely project completion by consulting relevant parties such as mould loft and engineering department for practical solution. -Performs supervision on site to ensure fabrication work have been safely executed accordingly to drawings and quality requirements to account for timely project completion by checks on the floor, communicating and getting feedback from workforce. -Take active role in Incident Investigation to find root cause and proper preventive measures are implemented by conducting interviews with injured person(s) and witnesses, analyzing accident scenes and other investigative processes together with HSE Team. -Monitor quality of welding and NDT completion on end products to prevent carry over work to next station by preforming on site checks and reviewing NDT records. -Prepare weekly report on progress and KPI to ensure project progress in on track by monitoring block status and compiling production progress data from site. -Study project requirements, identify any gap that exists with current hullshop practices and propose recommendations to close the gaps to ensure no unexpected delays to project schedule by conducting reviews and meetings with QA and QC personnel. -Set the KPI and manpower allocation for each station to achieve required schedule by analyzing workforce and facilities capabilities and historical date and previous projects. -Review subordinates competency to ensure effectiveness in performing work by analyzing productivity data, non conformance received and feedback from QA, QC and clients. -Study production drawings to spot possible mistakes or possible fabrication issues to ensure production schedule can be met without unexpected delays by detailed discussion and review of drawings with technical staffs. -Ensure proper lifting plan is available for blocks to account for safe block lifting by advising engineering lifting team on block fabrication method in advance. -Ensure Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) in place so that work can be performed according to project requirements by communicating SOP's to workforce. -Set daily targets for workforce to achieve to account for timely project completion by monitoring daily output and conducting daily reviews of the results. -Identify the production capacity and plan station schedule to ensure accordance to sequence by comparing to hullshop master schedule and hullshop historical productivity data. -Propose training required by workforce to prevent shortfall in certain roles by compiling workforce skills and comparing with production requirements. -Ensure proper risk assessment is in place to provide a safe working environment for workforce by periodically reviewing risks and hazards associated to workplace, executing control measures and communicate effectively to workforce. -Review manpower allocation and effectiveness to ensure project progress is on track by analyzing daily and weekly KPI against progress, discussing with managers should additional manpower or reallocation of manpower is needed. -Participate in Safety Innovation Programs by actively contributing to department Safety Innovation Team -Determine block fabrication sequence to ensure most effective way to fabricate blocks by analyzing drawing and 3D model and holding discussion with production and mould loft team.

What You Bring
-Knowledge of functional and operational requirements related to design of all types of ships and offshore vessels -Able to read and understand engineering drawings -Able to work in a team -Degree in Engineering -Possess supervisory skill to coach and motivate staff -Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering design software (e.g. Tribon, GEMS) -Knowledge of regulatory and class requirements -Possess good communication and interpersonal skills -At least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably in marine/ offshore industry -Knowledge and experience of his engineering field
