The Role

Overview

Lead construction management for complex transportation projects across Northern California.

Tasks

-Leads and/or participates in management, career path planning, and development of performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for more junior staff. -Secures, negotiates, and contracts the services of sub-consultants required for projects. -Provides strategic oversight and construction management for one or more large, highly complex projects with significant performance risk and specialized or intricate features. -Develops and helps execute comprehensive change management strategies and communications. -Directly managing teams -Observes, monitors, and documents the work of the contractor, providing quality assurance that project is constructed according to approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule. -Manages all on-site Harris staff, including field inspection staff and field office staff, and sub- consultants assigned to the project. -Initiates and leads strategic business development efforts and growth goals in alignment with the company’s strategic focus areas and plan. -Developing existing and new client relationships -Serves as internal and external subject matter expert. -Maintains extensive contact with key leaders in Harris, our communities, and markets. -Interacts with contractors, designers, owners, relevant agencies, and teams to discuss and resolve project matters (i.e., technical, or potential claim related project issues) not resolved at the construction manager or project team level. -Cultivates trusted advisor executive-level client relationships to position Harris to win new and follow-on work. -Oversees client relationships within the team and serves as an executive leadership resource. -Serves as primary point of contact with clients to deliver high-quality services within technical specialization or broadly for the practice. -Leads preparation of complex proposals in response to RFPs, including qualifications of the firm and team, approach, scope of work, schedule, and cost. -Overseeing project or program quality and completion in alignment with project plans and intended financial outcomes.

What You Bring

-OSHA 30, CCM preferred -15+ years of Construction Management experience with 6+ years of transportation or municipal project management experience -Must have the ability to frequently travel to other offices, field locations, and/or client meetings -Software, which may include Microsoft Office, Excel, databases, and web apps -May require specialized experience or certifications in area of assignment/project -Professional Engineering (PE) license or registered architect in relevant state(s) is preferred -OSHA 10 (required within 6 months of hiring) -Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. -Distinguished from the previous level by the number of projects and degree of complexity, as well as the total dollar volume of projects. -Require a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
