Lead Technician – Workington

Tasks

-Close out SHEQ observations and ensure corrective actions are completed promptly. -Lead troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems. -Lead fault response during escalations, ensuring safe and timely turbine restoration. -Support stock management activities, including bi-annual stocktakes and returns of defective parts. -Act as the senior technician on-site, supporting the planning and coordination of daily activities. -Carry out scheduled maintenance in line with OEM and internal procedures. -Record maintenance and fault activity accurately in the CMMS (X5). -Ensure full compliance with WTSR, site rules, and internal safety procedures. -Participate in the weekend and out-of-hours on-call rota. -Take a proactive approach to identifying and preventing issues that could impact turbine availability. -Maintain standards around PPE, tooling, calibration, van condition and site safety behaviours. -Support major component work and ensure first-time-fix wherever possible. -Ensure all works are executed efficiently, safely, and to high technical standards. -Maintain an availability-driven mindset, prioritising quick and effective fault resolution. -Coordinate local spares, consumables, tooling and lifting equipment. -Provide clear and accurate updates to the Area Manager and team.

What You Bring

-Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. -Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control-system knowledge. -Highly organised with the ability to coordinate work, parts and activities effectively. -Full UK driving licence. -Strong understanding of WTSR and safety-critical environments. -AT-level certification on Vestas platforms. -Strong communication and reporting ability. -High level of physical fitness and ability to work at height. -Proven experience working on Vestas turbines (V47, V52, V80).
