Maintain and inspect Brightline rail tracks, structures, stations, and facilities

Tasks

-Safely operating motorized equipment like lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, and drills. Maintain tools and equipment in good condition -Transport, load, and unload material and equipment -Follow manager’s instructions executing and delegating the planned work. -Respond to third party incidents and severe weather events and lead infrastructure clean-up activities. -Perform additional construction and maintenance support duties as required. -Monitor and review all Brightline communication channels, including our company intranet, bConnected, during work hours to ensure all company and department communications and notifications are promptly reviewed. -Perform maintenance operations including but not limited regular track maintenance, track inspection, landscaping, brush cutting, painting, pressure washing, window washing, and fence repairs. -Assist in conducting safety meetings and training sessions for railroad teammates on proper procedures of working around active tracks -Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to perform quality work in an efficient manner -Assist in establishing on-track protection within assigned areas according to the company’s operating rules and in compliance with federal law. -Work safely and adhere to applicable railroad rules and regulations. Report any hazards or injuries and take immediate corrective action -Complete minor construction projects including stations and facility repairs, corridor civil improvements, and railroad grade crossing repairs.

What You Bring

-Must be able and willing to work any shift or on weekends and holidays based on operational needs as necessary. -General knowledge of construction and maintenance fields, including landscaping, facility operations, and maintenance, civil repairs, painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical -Effective in working with other maintenance technicians and following managerial instructions. -Knowledgeable about railway systems, track structures, and maintenance procedures. Skilled in operating motorized equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers, and drills. -CFR 49 Part 213 Subpart A-F qualified to inspect, maintain, and restore track -High School Diploma or GED required , some college or vocational training preferred. -Effective communicator adept at establishing rapport across all organizational levels, fostering productive relationships crucial for operational success. -Minimum of 2 years of experience in the maintenance, construction, or railroad industries required. Experience operating light-duty construction equipment highly desired -Well-versed in safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance operations. Wear personal protective equipment when required and necessary -Experience working around railroads or railroad operations and an understanding of rail engineering, and/or familiarity with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) safety rules and regulations preferred. -Strong focus on safety and attention to detail to consistently deliver high-quality work. -Good physical condition to handle the demands of the job, which may include working in various weather conditions and performing manual tasks. Capable of operating heavy machinery, lift, climb, push, pull and bend for extended periods frequently lifting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds. -Proficient in construction and maintenance fields, including landscaping, facility operations, civil repairs, painting, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
