Tasks
-Identifies costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges. -Develops & maintains a series of both internal and external relationships. -Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -You will provide leadership to Managers and other professionals to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities. -Delivers improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change. -You will manage operations that are fiscally and ethically viable, influencing the achievement of business objectives that align with business and legislative compliance obligations. -Supervises the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client. -Manages & provides leadership to a team of Managers and Professionals, ensuring the principles, structures, tools/capabilities and responsibilities are in place to deliver area plans and deliver excellence. -You will be a leading advocate of Mace's value of Safety First, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability and project compliance standards. -Identifies and implements continuous improvement plans/identifies key business improvements. -Developing experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. -Measures and provides valuations of the work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with the terms of the contract to agree with the contractor. -You will manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives. -You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment, and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage. -You will manage costing associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, and present these to clients. -You will actively network, innovate, and seek understanding of best practice, utilising the full depth of knowledge of Mace group, the centres of excellence, Mace way control centre and knowledge hub. -Oversees and engages in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and any nominated subcontractors/suppliers. -Advises on the issuing of certificates of practical completion and ensure that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. -You will commit to making a positive impact for our people, our clients, and our planet, and take ownership for holding others to account who do not uphold the Mace values. -Sharing key information and learning generated with colleagues. -You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work. -Advises on administration of the terms of the construction works or services contracts. -Advises on issue of certificate of making good defects and final completion in accordance with any requirements relating to completion, submissions and approvals. -Provides performance management, technical development and coaching. -Manages & influences Key/Senior stakeholders. -You will be accountable for the preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses to achieve formal execution by appropriate parties. -Ensures adequate cost control and reporting services during the contract. -Manages Cost Consultant, providing guidance, direction and coaching and performance management. -Accountable for the preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and assist formal execution by the appropriate parties. -You will manage Cost Consultants to identify and execute opportunities that improve cost management procedures, templates and products to enhance services provided to stakeholders. -Identifying and participating in new initiatives that add value that lead to service improvement e.g. BIM.

What You Bring
-Experience of managing people. -Sound understanding of costs and timescales of work undertaken and implications of risk of failure to deliver. -Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sector/market of project/role. -Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolio/s. -Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). -Detailed knowledge in most forms of contracts. -Ability to be effective communicator with all stakeholders. -Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. -Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration and Contract Management. -Understanding of present-day issues such as Sustainability, Social Value and Carbon Reduction. -You will possess advanced technical expertise in local Health and Safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio. -Experience leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams. -Experience of risk management. -A degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent). -Proven experience in areas such as risk management and change control management.Proven experience of different types of contract including the method of measurement. -Demonstrable experience of delivering service excellence to clients. -Develops effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate and build relationships with key stakeholders. -Analytical skills. -Negotiation skills. -Proven experience in commercial management. -Uses advanced communication skills to collaborate with others to guide others to achieve project key performance indicators (KPIs). -Sound knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. -Experience in business development. -Ability to seek opportunities for implementing improved working practices. Manages relevant stakeholders for project/s. -Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on. -Developed commercial and financial acumen. -Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. -Digitally Competent. -Problem solving and analytical skills for resolving cost and contract administration and procurement issues within consult. -Knowledge of contractual frameworks relating to construction. -Professional membership or working towards i.e. MRICS/RICS (or equivalent). -Knowledge of BIM techniques and applications.
