Tasks

The Fire Protection Designer prepares layouts of sprinkler systems, detail drawings & diagrams. Plans prepared by designers include all views and dimensions necessary for the installation of a code compliant fire protection system. -Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using HydroCAD for Revit and or AutoSPRINK software -Produce stock list of material required throughout job progression -Coordinate design with other building trades -Coordination with project manager and internal teams

-High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment -Detail-oriented and organized -Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain it -Prioritize effectively, has good follow-through and practices self-implemented quality control measures -Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and meet established deadlines -NICET Certification preferred by not required -Thorough knowledge of NFPA Standards, government fire safety standards, and FM Global datasheets -Demonstrated proficient in Autodesk HydraCAD for Revit and or AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office software -Capable of performing hydraulic calculations and experience with 3D BIM coordination -Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fire sprinkler design
