Tasks

Removes obstacles through communication and collaboration with others. -Qualify for Authorized Persons List to coordinate and initiate switching. -Ensures employees attend required scheduled training. -Responds to regular and off-hour emergency outages, taking necessary steps to safe guard customers and employees during restoration of our electrical system in a timely manner. -Ensures work is completed in accordance with appropriate company policies, and standards are met through monitoring of work. Provides employee feedback, and seeks to understand and resolve quality issues. -Qualify for Authorized Persons List to coordinate and initiate switching applications. -Collaborates with the Coordinator - Protection in developing a schedule and assigning crews in order to ensure efficient productivity. -Ensures the safety of personnel by Promoting National Grid's Safety vision, leading a safe work culture, and ensuring compliance with OSHA Standards and National Grid Safety Rules. -Manages performance through observation and evaluation of employee work practices. Identifies, builds and communicates performance metrics and meets set performance levels. Fosters continuous improvement in the workplace. -Taking ownership for driving performance

What You Bring

-Knowledge of: collective bargaining agreements, construction standards, work methods, safety regulations, and environmental procedures. -Exhibit knowledge of Protective Relaying & Test vehicles, tools, and equipment. -Associate's Degree with five years of experience in protection relaying, or similar technical field, servicing customers, and supervising employees. or -Minimum of seven years electric operations experience, or similar technical field. -Portray an understanding of corporate finance and budgeting practices. -Bachelor's Degree with three years of experience in electric utility operations and substations, or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees. or -Demonstrating integrity and openness in all relationships -Display well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interface and communicate with people at all levels across organizational boundaries. -Ability to work off-hours and on call rotations sometimes requiring travel outside the Division for emergency assignments. These assignments and situations can require working off shifts as necessary to meet business needs. -Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and civil drawings; and schematics, one-line diagrams and circuit maps. -Possesses working knowledge of electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switches, instrument transformers, metering equipment, voltage regulation and power quality; OSHA standards, National Grid safety rules, Electric Operating Procedures, and best practice work methods. -Possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. -Understands and enforces the collective bargaining agreement. -Demonstrate proficient computer skills involving utility applications, Microsoft office, and field use of laptop computers. -Must successfully complete job specific National Grid Performance Supervisor training courses within allotted timeframe.
