The Role

Overview

Install and maintain fiber optic routes, digging, laying fiber, and operating equipment.

Tasks

-Operate heavy equipment and excavation truck -Measure and record installed quantities of fiber -Maintain clean, orderly environment adhering to company policies and industry regulation/standard(s) (OSHA) -Assist on overall job including all tasks required to build and install a site per customer specifications -Lay fiber innerduct and pull fiber through existing ducts -Dig holes, work with hand tools, restore landscaping -Operate pipe and cable locators and mark underground utilities

What You Bring

-Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle -0-2 years of experience with ability to take direction and learn from experience -Physical ability to lift 75+lbs. and be comfortable working in an outdoor environment in all types of weather -Ability to travel for extended periods of time (travel required is 50% to include overnight). -Ability and interest in performing work in the field -Must have High school diploma or equivalent -Ability to analyze and solve problems -Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with other employees and the general public -Ability to work independently as well as in a team -Demonstrated willingness to learn -Ability to use and take care of hand tools and mechanical equipment
