GIS Application & Database Developer

Overview

Develop and maintain GIS applications and databases for DHS projects.

Tasks

-Manage the design and development of GIS databases and related master files and ensure system capacity for current and future requirements. -Perform project planning, requirements analysis, database design, development and administration. -Assist with the design and development of GIS applications and multi-layered maps. -Design and implement data conversion procedures and perform software and database quality control. -Work independently to maintain database dictionaries, ensure database performance and resolve problems. -Work closely with the GIS user community to determine specific application requirements and specifications. -Coordinate with GIS users to ensure implementation and monitoring of GIS databases.

What You Bring

-Excellent organization skills and time management -BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science or other related field w/GIS experience. -Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance or DHS suitability (Background Investigation). -Ability to work in fast paced environment -Self-motivated and proactive -2+ years of experience performing GIS and related development. -Strong team skills and ability to work independently -U.S. Citizenship is required. -Excellent communication skills, verbal and written -1+ years of experience performing such activities for law enforcement, immigration, and/or border security applications. -Potential travel up to 15-20% of the time
