The Role
Overview
Lead environmental compliance and permitting for large construction projects in California.

Tasks
-Attend field visits with Client and regulatory agencies. -Develop and conduct environmental protection and awareness training to staff at all levels. -Identify wetland and sensitive environmental areas for protection and fencing in advance of construction activities. -Function as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issues. -Lead the environmental compliance & permitting for the construction operations. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Coordinate with relevant crews on their work locations, material needs, quantities and invoices. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Identify, assess and reduce environmental risks to the company. -Interpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings avoiding and minimizing adverse effects to the natural environment and local communities. -Prepare project and Kiewit required reports and communication of environmental risks to project management. -Monitor, forecast and communicate environmental costs at the project level. -Maintaining project data tracking requirements. -Liaise with the client providing them design information, schedule details, quantities etc. ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting and compliance issues. -Perform and oversee field inspections and monitoring (water quality, underwater noise etc.). -Update environnemental plans.

-Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. -Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental health or engineering field. -Qualified Environmental Professional designation is preferred. -Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail. -Regular, reliable attendance -Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. -Working knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental legislation. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment -8+ years' experience managing design and construction environmental compliance for large scale construction projects (OGC or EPC experience would be ideal). -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time. -Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
