Overview

Lead cost reduction and VAVE initiatives for engine and generator products.

Tasks

-Responsible to generate, promote, and evaluate innovative ideas across all the series released products, to reduce product costs, without compromising the product functionality, quality, safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. -Responsibility for driving cost reduction measures end to end and reporting the savings. -Interdisciplinary cooperation with the engineering, procurement and production departments as well as with suppliers at several global locations -Analyze designs, materials and manufacturing processes, and benchmark products and processes to suggest alternatives -Accountable for implementing the identified measures in series production and contributing towards Project’s annual Cost Reduction targets. -Identification of potential risks and preparation of mitigation plans -Coordinating, monitoring and assigning work packages to the VAVE support team (Value Analysis & Value Engineering) -Responsibility for preparing and monitoring project milestones, deliverables, business cases, and savings achieved while maintaining relevant reports and documentation

What You Bring

-Successfully completed B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or any other similar engineering specializations -Minimum 6 years of experience with Combustion engines and Generator Systems, and relevant experience in Product Cost Work / VAVE / Cost Analysis or similar projects -Several years of project management experience and experience with multi-project management -Understanding of product design, development, change management and manufacturing processes -Proficiency with CAD and PLM tools (preferably PTC Creo and Windchill), SAP, DFMEA, ISO GD&T standards, DFA/DFM principles -Very good knowledge of written and spoken English -Knowledge of cost estimation tools or VAVE an advantage -Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills -German language proficiency is an added advantage
