Project Management Director, Australia

Description

This position is responsible for overseeing the contract, production, logistics, and commissioning of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in renewable energy project management, particularly in battery storage, and will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

• Support business development by providing strategic technical insights and input for new BESS opportunities within the Australian market.
• Manage project schedules and conduct comprehensive risk assessments, ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards in Australia.
• Manage internal and external resources to ensure customer projects meet local needs, while leading cross-cultural teams to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinate feasibility analyses for projects, develop project assignment books, and build effective project teams post-establishment.
• Monitor project progress, report on key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively address any technical or logistical challenges.
• Oversee project quality, cost, schedule, communication, and risk management in compliance with Australian industry standards.
• Lead and direct end-to-end project management of BESS projects in Australia, from initial contract negotiation through to commissioning and handover to customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution across diverse environments.

Requirements

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry.

• 5-7 years of experience managing BESS or renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or grid-scale storage).
• Proven problem-solving and risk mitigation abilities.
• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• Excellent intercultural communication skills.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Business fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is a significant advantage.
