Tasks

We are looking for a student to support Brookfield Renewable’s Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) team for the winter term. In this opportunity, the student will work with Brookfield Renewable’s corporate head office to drive improved ESG performance at our operating businesses. -Compile ESG data including the annual GHG inventory through co-ordination with operating businesses; -Research and write reports on best practices, technology, policy, and regulatory aspects of sustainability topics. -Co-ordinate with the portfolio businesses to communicate required sustainability indicators in line with the ESG key performance indicators to achieve specified outcomes; -Track and report on ESG performance by evaluating Key Performance Indicators; -Work with the ESG central team to support the corporation and our portfolio businesses ESG strategy; -Support various internal ESG working groups to address ESG issues and improve ESG performance;

What You Bring

Knowledge Required -Understanding of sustainability trends, and best practice including in decarbonization, human rights, biodiversity, water and circularity. -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Self-motivated, proactive and demonstrates initiative. -Minimum 2 years completed of a degree related to the environment, with a preference for sustainability and financial management, environmental engineering, or environmental policy -4 months experience working in a technical environment -Experience in estimating scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, and corporate ESG disclosures -Outstanding communication, research and analytical skills. -Excellent knowledge of excel (pivot tables, look up lists, graphing) -Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands -Knowledge of ESG disclosure frameworks (GHG Protocol, CDP, TCFD, GRI and SASB).
