Skilled mechanic repairing and maintaining diesel, gasoline, aerial & construction equipment.

Tasks

-Perform skilled work involving the major overhaul and rebuilding of all aerial lifts, diggers, and cranes. -Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on a variety of aerial equipment. -Observe all motor vehicle laws and ensure the safety of vehicles. -Ensure that work performed is consistent with established standards and time lines. -Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of heavy-duty truck suspension systems. -Inspect assigned equipment; diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems and determine the extent of repairs. Test and repair associated components. -Furnish own hand tools through 1-1/4 inch. -Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections of vehicles and equipment; identify safety hazards and make necessary repairs and adjustments to assure safe operation of vehicles and equipment. -Maintain complete and accurate records for work orders, such as time, materials, parts, and description of work performed. -Inspect and adjust hydraulic and air brakes. -Perform metal fabrication on occasion.

What You Bring

-Effective oral and written communication skills; effective ability to work in small groups and committees. -Knowledge of equipment modification and rebuild techniques of aerial equipment. -Must be able to use the Fleet Focus computer system. -Knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA and ANSI. -Ability to work at varying heights and perform climbing. -Required to live within a reasonable distance of headquarters. -Knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems. -Basic knowledge of hazardous wastes/MSDSs/oil spill prevention. -Must possess and maintain a valid CDL driver’s license. If candidate does not have a CDL at the time of hire, the Company will provide training and pay testing costs and the license must be obtained within 6 months of hire date. -Five years' current experience in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aerial equipment. -Ability to read and comprehend schematics, drawings, and instruction manuals. -Working knowledge of computers and applications such as E-mail and Fleet Focus
