Tasks

The Supervisor of Electric Operations is responsible for the efficient scheduling and supervision of electric utility and contract crews and service crews engaged in the construction and maintenance of the electric transmission and distribution systems. -Effectively manage budgets, ensuring proper cost controls -Stand in for the Supervisor of Gas Operations and Supervisor of Operations Planning as needed -Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives -Ensure work is completed in compliance with all appropriate laws, rules, and regulations -Brief direct reports and develop service packets as needed -Work on-call rotation schedules, evenings, weekends, and in response to acute service needs -Utilize management practices to maintain employee engagement and productivity -Participate in the development of annual budgets -Lead special projects and utilize change and project management techniques as required -Work effectively with customers and the general public -Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record -Schedule daily and long-term crew assignments to ensure production goals are met -Supports division small town personnel -Provide instruction in and ensure compliance with proper work methods, construction standards, and safety procedures -Develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with peers, co-workers, and other internal and external customers -Supervise electric utility crews, contract crews, and service crews in the division service territory -Develop and participate in all aspects of hiring, performance appraisals, safety accountability checks, and process claims reports

Background Check: Required Work Location: Aberdeen, SD Preferred. (Other major operating areas in the South Dakota north division considered) Drug Test: Required -Strong computer skills, including Microsoft office and ability to learn and effectively use proprietary software -Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members -Supervisory/leadership experience a plus -Strong leadership skills including interpersonal communication skills -Strong business acumen desired -Bachelor's degree in Engineering or; -Perform constant sitting, frequent standing and walking, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds -Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record -Post-Secondary education/degree or experienced certified journeyman lineman preferred -All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics -Demonstrate leadership consistent with NorthWestern Energy's code, values, policies, processes and controls -Extensive daily computer usage -Working knowledge in electric utility (transmission, distribution, and substation) business and construction methodologies preferred -High School Diploma or equivalent -First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to acquire -Bachelor's degree in a Non-Engineering field or Journeyman lineman qualifications with relevant work experience and knowledge may be considered subject to review and approval by upper management
