Tasks

-Completing analysis of data reduction, computations, and mapping -Operates advanced survey technology including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAV, high-definition scanners, and data collections devices -Oversees preparation of CAD documents developed by other technical staff ensuring document quality, consistency, and production efficiency -Lead office staff to achieve client & project objectives -Coordinates work schedules and assignments for office staff -Maintaining quality of data in the office; independently perform accurate simple calculation as needed to complete surveys -Build client relationships -Follow prescribed safety practices for Land Surveying -Prepares cost estimates and assists with proposals -Daily coordination with department manager, field coordinator, project managers and other office staff to meet and understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of a project -Wear personal protective safety gear -Performs records research and drafting as well as technical report writing and review -Works with field coordinator to maintain log of calibration records for survey equipment -Drive a passenger vehicle -Supervises, trains, mentors, and coaches jr. office and field staff -Sit for extended periods of time

What You Bring

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Senior CAD Technician opening in our Charlotte, NC or Rock Hill, SC office. As a Senior CAD Technician for LaBella, you will perform survey work relating to topographic and boundary surveying, construction staking, structure monitoring, and other surveying applications in support of land surveying. civil engineering, architectural, and environmental projects. You will be working under the direction of a Licensed Professional Surveyor. -Ability to interpret design and construction plans -Experience as a Survey Crew Chief with the ability to become a licensed Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) and obtain future licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus. -Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills -Use a computer and keyboard -Willingness to work overtime as needed -Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and Inroads software is a plus -Maintain a current driver's license in good standing and able to operate company owned vehicles -Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces -Proficiency with the Trimble family of surveying equipment is a plus -Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment and independently -Minimum ten years' experience with a multitude of CAD platforms -Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology, equipment, and software
