Tasks

-Stakeholder Management: May serve as liaison between the construction contract administrator and engineering team during construction. Coordinates multidisciplinary problem resolution resulting from non-compliance with drawings and specifications at the site. -Project Budget: Responsible for managing the engineering design budget and providing key inputs to the Project Controls team -Project Team Coordination: Convenes, chairs and documents interdisciplinary design coordination meetings and brings forward updates and any critical issues that impact external stakeholders to the Project Manager. -Process Adherence: Ensure the design produced follows appropriate engineering processes, including GHD and Project specific processes -Project Closeout and Handover: Draft elements of product documentation and user training to support handover to business as usual. Contribute to post-project reviews and identification of lessons learned. -Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching -Requirements Management: Lead the creation and execution of design work plan and level of effort (LOE). Coordinates the preparation of the design criteria by the team leads. -Project Planning: Produce workstream or project plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project management framework. -Project Quality: Responsible for coordinating Quality Control of all deliverable submittals in accordance with GHD’s Quality Management System -Project Reporting and Review: Draft project review reports and presentations, including key information, commentary, and recommendations, to support the review process and enable stakeholders to evaluate progress and agree on change. -Work Scheduling and Allocation: Participate to continuously review and improve the overall project strategy to meet design schedule and budget with the ability to support staging and phasing requirements. Verifies that the schedule and budget data match the progress of the professional services throughout execution of the project. -Project Scope Definition: Responsible for developing or verifying the technical scope of a project and working with disciplines to provide pricing during proposal, and subsequently work planning following project award to initiate design activities -Project Control: Responsible for implementing and following the project’s Change Control system, including proactive escalation of potential changes -Project Delivery: Responsible for managing multi-disciplinary project delivery for municipal water/wastewater projects to produce a compliant, constructible design in accordance with Client requirements, Operation and Maintenance requirements and Construction requirements -Project Resource Management: Manage the deployment of project resources, proactively managing project costs, providing forecasts, and presenting variances with narrative at appropriate review points to ensure effective utilization.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of scheduling software and engineering and capital cost estimating techniques is a definite asset. -Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) on multi-discipline projects -Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university -Technical proficiency and previous project design experience in one or more discipline (civil, structural, architectural, process mechanical, building mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation & control) considered an asset -7+ years of design management experience on large ($25M-$50M+), multi-discipline engineering teams for municipal water/wastewater projects within Canada -The ability to deal with uncertainty, changing and multiple priorities
