Tasks

As the Design Manager, reporting to the Senior Design Manager, you will be crucial in managing the design process from end-to-end across airfield works, civils, and MEP packages. You will ensure designs are delivered on time and on budget, while managing contractual aspects, risks, and changes. -Co-ordinate design team activities to ensure the project design is completed within the agreed budget and construction programme. This includes monitoring progress, managing slippages, and tracking design progress monthly. -Manage the tendering of design packages by understanding client scope and negotiating offers. You will also work closely with the procurement team to ensure compliance with financial parameters and assist in defining subcontract scopes. -Actively define and manage design interfaces, lead the review of the design with all interested parties, and liaise with client representatives and the internal Spanish Engineering Services team. -Be responsible for ensuring the design complies fully with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements. This includes setting up tools to evidence how Health by Design and Design for Safety/Sustainability have been embedded. -Promote, explore, and materialize value engineering opportunities. You will also assist the Senior Design Manager in team management, performance advice, and development, while preparing monthly KPI submissions.

NES Fircroft has been exclusively retained by a world leader in transport infrastructure to seek a talented professional to ensure the successful, compliant, and innovative delivery of design packages. -Experience working in a cost-conscious environment, strong people management skills, and the ability to manage priorities and maximize efficiency with minimal guidance. -A strong working knowledge of BIM and Health and Safety Legislation, with a proactive approach to incorporate new technologies on-site (innovation). -Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at a variety of levels with all stakeholders. -Proven experience in design coordination roles, ideally with experience in airfield design (management) and working in the construction industry. -Experience in reviewing and implementing processes, workflows, and procedures, particularly for setting up a CDE platform (Common Data Environment) in major projects.
