Tasks

-Conduct inspections for the installation of sanitary sewer systems and storm drains, including related structures, in accordance with City and County of Los Angeles Standards. -Collaborate professionally within a large team of Inspectors. -Assist in reviewing and approving Contractor’s monthly progress payment request based on work completed and approved schedule of values. -Perform inspections for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal systems, following the specifications set by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Lighting and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. -Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports that clearly and concisely documents observed construction activities and identifies issues, deficiencies, and safety concerns in a timely manner. -Ensure compliance with multi-phased, site-specific traffic control plans, with a strong emphasis on pedestrian safety and routing. -Perform inspection of major reinforced concrete structures including pile foundations, roadways, and bridges across multiple jurisdictions.

What You Bring

-High school diploma (or equivalent). -Current Cal-Trans test method certifications in 100, 200, 300, and 500 series desired. -Apply extensive knowledge of City of Los Angeles Standard Plans/Specifications and the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (Greenbook). -Apply knowledge of and enforce Cal-OSHA, Contractor’s and safety requirements. -30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years. -Computer Proficiency - Utilize electronic equipment to review project plans and contract documents including RFIs, submittals, and change orders. -Working and operational knowledge of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) used for inspection reporting and document control. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Pro, PM Web, Bluebeam, ProCore, etc.. -Apply extensive knowledge of Cal-Trans construction Standard Plans and Specifications. -Current City of Los Angeles Deputy Inspector Licenses; Grading, Concrete, Post Tension desired.
