Tasks

The Mobile Mapping Technical Manager is responsible for leading the technical planning, execution, and quality assurance of geospatial data collection using mobile mapping systems. This role ensures accurate, efficient, and safe capture of 3D spatial data through advanced technologies such as vehicle-mounted LiDAR, panoramic imaging, and high-precision GNSS systems to support infrastructure, urban planning, asset management, and transportation projects. -Coordinate LiDAR classification, feature extraction, and 3D modeling workflows. -Stay current with trends in spatial technologies, SLAM, and AI-based feature extraction. -Lead end-to-end mobile mapping operations, including planning, mobilization, execution, and post-processing. -Operate and configure mobile mapping systems (e.g., Trimble MX9, Leica Pegasus, RIEGL VMX, TopoDOT, etc.). -Evaluate and implement new mobile mapping technologies and techniques. -Coordinate cross-functional teams including GIS, survey, and data processing specialists. -Oversee the processing of point cloud data, imagery, and trajectory files using specialized software. -Support integration of mobile mapping data into GIS, BIM, and CAD environments. -Monitor data collection quality in real-time and troubleshoot equipment issues. -Manage project schedules, deliverables, and client technical communication. -Conduct system tests, GNSS base station setups, and ground control integration. -Define project requirements and workflows for data collection, calibration, and processing. -Supervise field teams and ensure operational efficiency and adherence to safety standards. -Ensure correct calibration of sensors (LiDAR, cameras, GNSS/IMU). -Validate accuracy and completeness of datasets according to geospatial standards. -Optimize workflows for increased automation, speed, and data quality. -Implement QA/QC protocols and generate technical documentation for delivery.

What You Bring

3. Data Processing & Quality Control -Mobile Mapping Platforms: Trimble MX, Leica Pegasus, RIEGL, Teledyne Optech, or equivalent. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying Engineering, Geospatial Science, or related field. -Understanding of coordinate systems, georeferencing, and control networks. -High attention to detail and spatial accuracy. -Excellent written and verbal communication. -Valid driving license. -Strong leadership and project management skills. -3D Point Cloud Management: CloudCompare, LAStools, Autodesk Recap. -LiDAR Processing: Trimble Business Center, RiPROCESS, TerraSolid, TopoDOT, or similar. -GIS & CAD Software: ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation. -Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage). -Familiarity with SLAM, HD Maps, or AI feature recognition is a plus. -Minimum 5 years of experience in mobile mapping, geospatial data collection, or LiDAR systems, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role. -Willingness to travel for field operations.
