The Role

Overview

Oversee building maintenance, supervise trades, conduct inspections, ensure compliance.

Tasks

-Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and contract profitability -Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and company operating procedures -Supervise and coordinate tradespeople and subcontractors across multiple workstreams -Ensure all works meet industry standards and building regulations -Compile management reports on operational activities and performance -Oversee planned, cyclical, and responsive repairs to ensure timely and high-quality delivery -Conduct pre- and post-inspections on internal and external tenanted and Void properties -Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and compliance -Inspect works at height including doors, windows, and snagging on scaffolding -Log works and generate reports using PDA systems and Excel -Provide excellent customer care and resolve issues professionally

What You Bring

-A trade background with hands-on knowledge of building maintenance practices -Willingness to undergo DBS/security checks prior to employment -Ability to carry out inspections and assess work against quality standards -Organisational and planning skills to manage resources and meet deadlines -Comfortable working at height and inspecting scaffolding-based works -A full valid UK manual driving licence -Entitlement to work in the UK (Mears does not offer visa sponsorship) -Ability to use PDA systems and Excel for reporting and logging tasks -Strong understanding of planned, cyclical, and responsive repair programmes -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Experience in the above duties -Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multi-trade teams -Proven experience supervising operatives within the repairs and maintenance sector -Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence
