The Role
Overview
Lead daily land surveying operations, including construction stakeout, boundary & topographic work.

Tasks
-Complete boundary reductions, boundary determinations, and mapping/topographic field reductions in CAD/survey software. -Responsible to maintain and verify accuracy of project survey data and managing company standards survey database; Review survey production and final products, processed data collection, and field notes for quality control. -Advance the professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers. -Observe safety and security procedures. -Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports. -Prepare proposals, scopes of work, schedules, budgets and mentor and assist in training junior staff members. -Perform complex survey duties associated with construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys. -Supervise CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed. -Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds. -Operate a company vehicle.

What You Bring
-Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check. -Land Surveyor (LS) License required. -Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull. -Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises. -Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays. -Knowledge and ability to effectively deal with public and governmental agencies, manage field crews, and schedule equipment and supplies. -Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook. -Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required. -Possesses oral and written communication skills. -Advanced knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices. -Proficient in on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques. -Proficiency with survey computations, staking/control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects. -Advanced understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems. -8 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred. -Proficient with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software. -Advanced problem-solving techniques. -Knowledge for the operation and assistance of operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment. -Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering plans and construction documents. -Proven people management and leadership capabilities. -Ability to effectively communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG.
