CNC Set-up / Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Overview

Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines on 3rd shift in fabrication.

Tasks

-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. -Check coolant for refractometer reading -Use and control of daily paperwork to include: -Perform equipment/maintenance checks to include: -Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation. -Setup and adjust CNC Machines -Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems. -Accepts feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the bundles meet safety standards. -Work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE). -Clean machine at the end of the shift -Participate in Continuous Improvement activities -While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. -Responsible for all machined parts on the CNC machine. -Work with Quality dept. to interpret layout data -Mix and fill new coolant -Comply with safety policies and procedures.

What You Bring

-HS Diploma/GED -The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Preferred experience with Haas, Brother and DMG Mori CNC Machining Centers -Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented. -Able to read and understand inspection tools. (Micrometers, calipers, comparator). -Must also pass a skills-based test. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Working knowledge of Vertical CNC Mills (3 and 4 Axis) -Working knowledge of Horizontal Mills -SPC quality sheets -Able to participate in a collaborative environment. -Work independently and as part of a team. -CNC programming. -Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. -Able to understand material handling techniques to package parts off CNC as necessary -Working knowledge of all CNC screens and functions -Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter. -Must pass a company background check and drug screen. -Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
