The Role
Overview
Assist in installing and servicing residential/commercial garage doors.

Tasks
-Participating in installing Sectional (includes FinDoor), Rolling steel, Fire Doors, High Speed Doors, Security Grilles, Roll Shutters, Bifold -Complete all required paperwork daily and submitted on time at the end of each work day- ie: timesheets, FHLA’s, job workorder with clear notes and part #’s -Providing Service, and diagnose problems, provide solutions, and carry out required work on overhead doors -Participate in training and execution of welding for installation or repairs if required -Effectively assess job scope with a Lead Technician and note any discrepancies to your scheduler immediately- ie: product warranty, site conditions, and safety -Accountable to making sure safety training and tickets are up to date and valid- clearly communicate to scheduler on required renewals- such as Fall Protection, OSSA Elevated Work Platform, Standard First Aid, CSTS, etc) -Actively participating in learning the skill with intention to progress to a Lead Technician -Taking direction from the Lead Technician and providing support -Championing safety standards with a strong safety mindset -Maintain a professional manner during regular interaction with warehouse staff, construction Project Managers, customers, other trades, and safety personnel -Encouragement and support for our Technicians and Installers in obtaining CDI Certification -Regularly communicate and coordinate with the scheduler on problem solving, provide solutions and required parts if needed.

What You Bring
-Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements including background check, drug, alcohol and health assessment -D&A Testing for site access or post incident -Above average mechanical aptitude -The ability to transport product on trailers and manlifts (on trailers) to and from sites safely. -Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds -Daily attendance and punctuality -Minimum 3 - 6 months’ experience in a relevant trade (i.e. construction, welding, millwright etc.) -Any relevant safety training and tickets is an asset. (WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid, etc.) -Possessing resourcefulness, integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team environment -Possess a valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract -COR Certified workplace -Wearing a hard hat and other PPE as required is mandatory for this safety sensitive role. -Resourcefulness, integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a team environment -Experience in a Service/Installation Industry; previous experience with door automation considered an asset -New hire candidates will be required to provide a current Driver’s Abstract from the province which the position is located, at their own cost -Must be able to work outside in all different weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat. Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling and managing equipment and tools required -Working with hand tools, electric tools, lifts, and ladders
