Tasks

-Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development. -Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development. -Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff. -Responsible for independent review of project progress -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. -Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget -Serve as Owner’s Representative, Delivery Partner, and/or Independent PMO with initial assignment to lead design-builder delivery of a CBTC program through the design, construction and closeout phases -Provide solutions to project issues -Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major projects within the transportation market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability. -Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers. -Oversee the discipline’s vision and mission to promote an appropriate value proposition that accounts for corporate and WSP client business strategy, governmental regulations and policies, and QA/QC in delivery. -Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics -Perform schedule review and analysis -Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks. -Develop and maintain Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance -Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients. -Serve in a Program Manager role on mega rail transportation projects delivered via various delivery methods -Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing high program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities. -Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with NYC transit agency policies and procedures -MS Degree (Engineering) -Progressive Design/Build or CMAR project delivery experience as a Program Manager -Experience in delivering CBTC programs managing a design-builder on behalf of the transit agency -Strong oral and written communication skills. -Advanced SME-level proficiency with transit and rail engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues. -15+ years of relevant experience -PE License -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. -Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering -Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint -Proven experience in the delivery of public rail transportation infrastructure projects, with construction costs in excess of $1 billion -Extensive Design-Build project delivery experience on transit projects as a Program Manager -PMP Certification
