Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer, Monday-Friday

Overview

Monitor and maintain water treatment systems and critical facility infrastructure in a data centre.

Tasks

-Documentation: Maintain comprehensive site logs and data records, including MOPs (Method of Procedure) and scripts. -Preventative Maintenance: Oversee and execute hands on preventative maintenance on site infrastructure, either directly or through vendor management, including managing the permit to work system. (UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred) -Conducting regular water sampling and analysis to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. -Planned Maintenance: Prepare and execute planned maintenance activities to ensure the reliability of our infrastructure. -Work Requests & Installations: Complete basic work requests and circuit installations efficiently. -Site Inspections & Monitoring: Conduct regular site inspections and monitor building and data centre alarms to ensure optimal performance. -Monitoring and maintaining water quality in cooling towers, chillers, and other systems. -Keeping accurate records of water treatment activities and compliance reports.. -Collaborating with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve water-related issues and to support in the recording -Incident Response: Assist senior staff in responding to on-site incidents and take initiative in handling basic incidents based on your expertise. -Facility Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure the seamless operation of our facility infrastructure through diligent maintenance practices. -Infrastructure Projects: Participate actively in ongoing infrastructure projects to enhance our facilities. -Works Projects: Execute works projects to improve site functionality. -Repairs & Corrective Maintenance: Perform and manage repairs and corrective maintenance on critical equipment to maintain uninterrupted service.

What You Bring

-Educational Background: ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering. -Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the UK -Experience: water treatment processes, preferably in a data center or industrial setting. -Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of critical infrastructure, including UPS, generators, BMS, chillers, and life safety systems. HV switching experience preferred -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
