Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Design and develop cryogenic liquid and process gas transfer systems, ensuring safety and compliance.

Tasks

-Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, product changes, manufacturing capabilities and project status. -Identify problem root causes, develop & implement solutions related to products and processes; -Reinforce corporate commitment to safety and environmental awareness; -Interpret customer requirements into detailed specifications sufficient to develop products including cryogenic liquid transfer systems; -Produce detailed design of systems and/or components, including design for manufacturability; -Evaluate and recommend components for conformance to design specifications; -Develop analytical models of system design and produce testing protocols sufficient to validate model;

What You Bring

-Familiarity with ASME, CGA, NFPA, FAR, IMDG, ISO, and PED requirements -At least 5 years relevant experience in the design of piping systems -Experience with direct customer interface -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills -Fluid Dynamics – including 2-phase flow -Experience with heat transfer and heat management -Thermodynamics and heat transfer -Familiarity with process & instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams -CAD, including SolidWorks -FMEA, HAZOP and general risk analysis -4 years of experience in the design of pressure vessels -4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering -Structural design and stress analysis -Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines -Experience with system designs in compliance with ASME B31.3 & B31.12 -Industrial control systems design including PLC's
