The Role

Overview

Lead assurance for electrical & mechanical works on Sizewell C project.

Tasks

-Contribute to the UK’s net-zero future. -Oversee substation and cabling works on SZC’s private networks. -Ensure high standards of safety and compliance with SZC values and procedures. -Manage teams of employees and contractors during engineering tasks. -Coordinate daily construction and maintenance operations to meet project timelines. -Deputise for the Assurance & Utilities Manager, including attending key meetings and delivering team briefings. -Act as a Control Person and Senior Authorised Person for planned and emergency works. -Support the delivery of construction and maintenance activities for SZC-owned assets and infrastructure. -Participate in standby rotas and respond to system faults, including during unsocial hours. -Provide technical support for design and engineering activities.

What You Bring

-Ability to work in different fast-paced environments -CSCS or CCNSG certification. -HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. -Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using Microsoft Office, MS Project, and other relevant software. -National Grid BESC approval. -Understanding of CDM Regulations -Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational skills. -Strong knowledge of HV systems and specialist HV equipment. -Knowledge of HV SCADA systems. -Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives. -Proven experience with 400V to 11kV distribution systems. -Relevant safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH). -Full UK driving licence. -Minimum 11kV Senior Authorised Person as defined by the E&M Safety Rules. -Familiarity with SZC processes and requirements. -Strong negotiation, influencing, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
