Tasks

-Manage survey staff and mentor them to develop professionally. -Plan and coordinate work of field survey parties performing design survey and construction staking. -Sharing Information: Conveying up-to date information in the most efficient and useful manner to the appropriate stakeholders. -Conduct marketing of surveying and engineering services and business development to obtain additional survey projects. -Ensure QA and QC review is completed. -Identifies Talent: Actively maintaining awareness of internal and external talent, current abilities, and hiring needs. -Prepare scope of services and detailed project budget for multiple projects. -Act as primary client contacts and build relationships with clients. -Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projects -Executes Strategy: Ensuring that people remain focused on accomplishing strategic goals by thoughtfully planning tasks and overcoming obstacles -Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staff -Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects. -Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy. -Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). -Negotiate scope and fees of projects with clients and follow up on billing/collections. -Prepare proposals, cost estimates, plats, legal descriptions and sketches roadway databases, topographic surveys, compute survey data, TxDOT right of way maps, etc. -Ensure technical quality, scheduling, and profitability of projects. -Fosters a Learning Culture: Creating an inspiring and engaging atmosphere where people feel motivated to grow, experiment, and learn new skills. -Manage several survey projects simultaneously which includes scheduling, staffing and budgets.

What You Bring

-Texas registered Land Surveyor required. -Cultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clients -The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities -Minimum 10 years' experience overseeing and performing Land Survey. -Office production experience including TxDOT, boundary, topographic and construction surveying. -Passion for building client relationships, marketing surveying, and engineering services. -Understands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythm -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer -Critical Thinking: Analyzing problems and solutions by evaluating the quality of the information available from different sources and avoiding decision-making bias. -Business development experience. -Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Geopak, Carlson Survey and C&G. -Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times -Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. -Valid Texas Driver's License and clean driving record.
