Overview

Fit steel components by reading blueprints, laying out, assembling and inspecting structures.

Tasks

-Works under direct supervision with structured responsibilities. -Inspect finished work and make necessary adjustments. -Collaborate with teammates to meet production goals. -Perform layout and fit-up of metal components per drawings and cut lists. -Contributes to continuous improvement and lean practices. -Comply with all company policies and procedures. -Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas. -Identify and resolve fitting issues during fabrication. -Follow all safety guidelines and shop rules. -All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected. -Works under general supervision and uses independent judgment. -Produce high-quality assemblies aligned with specifications. -Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.

What You Bring

-Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on routine tasks. -1 year of industry experience. -Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents. -Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations -Advanced mechanical aptitude and math skills. -Pass welding tests: 3G/FCAW, 1G/GMAW-MC, and 3G/GMAW-SC. -Ability to read process sheets, cut lists, tolerances, and basic prints. -Performs highly technical work with minimal supervision. -Lift, move, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. -Ability to fully fit beams, columns, and miscellaneous metals. -Awards: Whether in Construction, Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Service, RK Industries is highly recognized and accredited throughout the industry: Accreditations & Recognition -Read and use a tape measure accurately. -Intermediate math including some geometry and trigonometry. -All Fitter 1 qualifications plus: -Ability to read and interpret advanced blueprints. -Ability to fit complex components such as curved rails, stairs, and canopies. -Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch. -Supervisory experience overseeing up to 5 Fitters. -Intermediate math skills. -Ability to mentor and support Fitter 1s. -All Fitter 2 qualifications plus: -Ability to conceptualize and design intermediate fixtures. -Minimum of 5 years of industry experience. -Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic fixtures. -Minimum of 7 years of industry experience.
