Processes eligibility and income recertification for rent‑subsidy program.

Tasks
-Assists in developing and conducting trainings for service providers regarding program requirements. -Generates monthly reports on tenant rents for Finance department and King County. -Assists in internal file review prior to SPC program audits. -Works in collaboration with the Finance Department regarding assistance payments, status of issued subsidy payments, vendor information and other updates. -Assists with HUD Annual Progress Report data collection. -Coordinates annual income recertification process by reviewing and processing appropriate household and income certification documentation for households from service agency leads while following HUD guidelines regarding income inclusions and exclusions for eligible households. -Crosstrain on conducting inspections and provide overall knowledge of the program throughout King County. -Updates tenant, unit, and landlord information in the database system as changes occur. -Provides coverage for other Certification Coordinator during absences. -Enters data into database system in a timely manner to process new tenant applications and transfers, generating rent calculations for service agencies, payments to landlords, and confirmation letters for participants, agency representatives, and landlords. -Assists in researching current local, state, and federal housing laws. -Answers the department telephone line, responding to questions from organization representatives, landlords, and individuals from the community. -Participates in SPC Coordinating Committee meetings as needed. -Reviews new and transfer applications for completeness, accuracy and program qualifications using the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)/ SPC program regulation guidelines. Communicates needed corrections, request for information, and status of application to service agency leads.

What You Bring
-Compliance background is desired. -Knowledge of community-based programs and services. -Proficient and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. -Must be able to work efficiently and effectively with customized databases and technology, and conduct internet research. -Ability to evaluate client information, assess client needs, and make referrals. -Section 8 or other rental assistance program experience is desired. -Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports. -Associates Degree and or Bachelor of Arts degree in human services or related field is desired -Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines in determining eligibility for assistance programs. -Familiarity with reviewing contracts is desired. -Demonstrated highly proficient oral and written communication skills. -Ability to interview and provide technical assistance. -Ability to use computer software to produce reports and written communications. -Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, procedures, and guidelines governing client eligibility for assistance programs. -Working knowledge with Microsoft SharePoint is desired. -Demonstrated administrative skills and capacity to process a large volume of paperwork with a high degree of accuracy.
