Tasks

-Assist with the preparation to mobilize dive equipment, inspect and maintain dive equipment as directed and manage overall condition of the dive locker as needed -Drive trucks over 10,000 lbs., tow trailers, and operate vessels as platforms to safely facilitate structural inspections -Identify elements, analyze deterioration according to appropriate standards, assess remaining sections, and report findings in a diligent manner -Conduct underwater and topside structural inspections in a team environment and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed -Research and prepare safety and field documents prior to field work -Work collaboratively with the equipment managers -Monitor equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures -Communicate regularly with other professionals and departments for best practices at each job site -Prepare or assist in preparation of reports including data entry, text writing and photo editing post field work -Ensure safety at all times and adhere to Moffatt & Nichol’s Quality Management System (QMS) -Maintain personal diving records and ensure proper filing for company reference

What You Bring

-Must live or be willing to relocate to the Long Beach, CA area upon hire -All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 -Holds or previously held a Port of Long Beach or Port of Los Angeles diver permit -Office work requires ongoing reporting work requiring focus -2 to 5 years of diving experience required; structural or construction inspection experience strongly preferred -Field work requires diving in waters and exposure to extreme elements -Commercial diving requires specific physical conditioning and strength -Ability and willingness to travel (approximately 20-30%) both domestically and internationally as required. Most work is local and does not require overnight stays -ADCI Air Diver card is a must (Air Diver equivalent for other commercial diver certifications with the ability to crossover to ADCI Air Diver certification is acceptable) -Prior experience related to equipment or mechanical maintenance required -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Valid driver’s license in good standing -Selected candidate must consent to and pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening -Willingness and ability to become a certified ADCI Dive Supervisor within 1 to 2 years is strongly desired -Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges FHWA-NHI-130055 and Underwater Bridge Inspection FHWA-NHI-130091 preferred but not required -Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) -Must be able to move among a variety of simultaneous priorities -The incumbent must be able to lift, carry, climb, and navigate in a small boat -Boater Safety Card preferred -Field work requires incumbent to carry heavy equipment over unpaved, rural, and unmarked terrain -Due to client parameters, the selected candidate must show (post offer) proof of U.S. citizenship and clear results of a thorough background check that may include, but is not limited to credit and criminal history -Certified Commercial Diver is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or completion of a US military equivalent diving school -Current First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Oxygen Provider certification required -Willingness to become certified as a rope access / SPRAT technician is strongly desired -Software proficiency with Microsoft products -Some travel is required -Associate’s or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
