The Role

Overview

Traveling tech troubleshoots, inspects and repairs wind turbines across Canada/US.

Tasks

-Test electrical components and systems, as well as mechanical and hydraulic systems. -Assist in troubleshooting of drivetrain-related issues (pumps, sensors, brakes, cooling unit, filters, etc.). -Perform maintenance on wind turbine equipment including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions. Replace worn or malfunctioning components. -Inspect drivetrain components (main shaft + bearings, gearbox + gears + bearings).

What You Bring

-Strong written and verbal communication skills to describe complex damages, participate in the preparation of inspection and repair reports, and follow up to final resolution. -Work in confined/enclosed spaces and be comfortable with heights. -Read and comprehend procedures. -Read and understand electrical schematics. -Must have a minimum of 1yr experience in a mechanical, electrical or industrial field -Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the Canada. Qualified applicants will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the Canada. -Hands on work experience as a Wind Technician on a Wind Farm preferred -Technician must be able to work within the maximum safety guidelines using personal -Relevant work experience e.g. electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance/troubleshooting in a military, industrial or automotive industry preferred -Senvion, SGRE Direct Drive (D3), SG4X 145 experience a plus -Perform other duties – Safe, team-oriented work habits are essential. -Must pass pre-hire background drug screening -Knowledge of maintenance and electrical testing equipment for turbines. -Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position -High school diploma or equivalent -Basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, diagnostic tools and -Certification from a Renewable Energy or Wind Technical Program a plus -Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations -Travel to locations in the U.S. and/or Canada with no restrictions. -Must be willing to travel for extended periods of time - up to 95%
